What does LCSW mean?
LCSW means Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  This indicates that Rebecca is clinically licensed to provide therapy through the state of Illinois.  To attain the LCSW designation, Rebecca obtained a Masters degree in Social Work and then worked for several years to gain extensive clinical experience.

Where do I begin?
In order to start counseling, you will need to contact Rebecca directly via email at rwolflcsw@gmail.com or give her a call at 973-420-4066. Please feel free to leave a message as voicemail is confidential. Rebecca will ask you about why you are seeking therapeutic services at this time and assist you in scheduling the initial session.

What can I expect from the first session?
The initial session will begin with basic paperwork. Upon completion, Rebecca will explain a bit about herself and answer any questions you may have about her therapeutic approach and the treatment process. She will then explore the current impetus for seeking counseling as well as some of your history. At the end of the session, you will discuss your initial goals, though these often evolve as treatment progresses.

Is what we talk about confidential?
Everything discussed in therapy will remain confidential. The only exceptions to this rule are if you mention thoughts of wanting to hurt yourself in any way - including suicide, hurt someone else in any way - including homicide, or if you discuss knowledge or actions related to child or elder abuse. In such cases, confidentiality may be broken in an effort to maintain safety.

How often should I come to therapy?
Typically sessions occur once per week though frequency may increase or decrease depending on your progress, need and scheduling logistics.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.

What If I need to cancel an appointment?
Please contact Rebecca as soon as you know if you need to cancel or change your appointment. You can reschedule your session without penalty if you provide sufficient notice. Cancellation within 24 hours of the session will result in a charge for the full cost of the session.

What should I do in case of emergency?
If you are having thoughts of hurting yourself or someone else, call 911 immediately or take yourself to the nearest emergency room. In the emergency room, you will be able to speak to medical professionals as well as crisis counselors who can help determine how to best help you and make sure you are safe.
